Timothy F. Shields
Tim Shields is the managing partner and a co-founder of George & Shields, LLP, and has more than 30 years of experience representing business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, landlords, and executives throughout California. Tim’s practice focuses on cases involving business, construction, real estate, trade secret, corporate, securities, investment, and employment matters.
A veteran of both the courtroom and the boardroom, Tim understands the unique pressures and concerns of running a business. He frequently serves as outside general counsel for companies within California and throughout the West Coast. In this role, he participates in board meetings, strategic planning sessions, and executive discussions — where company stakeholders value his business and legal acumen, insights, and judgment.
Tim has been an active Rotarian for more than 20 years, and founded the tax-exempt Newport-Irvine Foundation, where he has been a key fundraiser. Tim is also a member of the Commodores Club in Newport Beach, and has served as a director of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, as a director of the YMCA, and as chairman of various community events. Tim was recognized by the California Senate for his leadership with the Boy Scouts, where he continues to serve as an assistant scoutmaster and firearms instructor.
